Coronafy and Corona Diaries

Context:

Coronadiaries.io is an open-source journalism platform brought together by former fellows of the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard and supported by the Center for Advanced Virtuality at MIT. In its current state it is a ever evolving website focusing on the stories of average people during the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.

Problem and Status at Time of Work:

  • Lacks a true form, but has a direction and need for engaging consumers.

  • It has a few prompts you can contribute with, and the ability to listen to recordings by others in a world map style interface.

Research Methods:

Zoom Interviews and Surveying.

  • 11 Interviews

  • 20 Surveys

Solution Found:

The final takeaway was that all 11 volunteers highly desired a separate app for the project, and all stated it needed to be easy to use and familiar interfacing.

Concept Selected:

A solid data interface to incorporate the recordings from the project in a quick and accessible manner.

Mully Lingua Website

Context:

Mully Lingua, a website with the honourable goal of connecting Parents and Children with a language or culture through events and classes. Bringing the world to kids, one activity at a time.

Research Methods:

Zoom Interviews and Surveying.

  • 15 Initial Interviews

  • 90+ Surveys

Problem and Status at Time of Work:

  • The site had a rough idea of what it wanted to be.

  • No one seemed to know exactly what they were signing up for. Users would be confused over what services were exactly provided, are these one off events or after-school classes. What exactly was a cultural ambassador and what did they do?

Solution Found:

Cleaning up the site and redisplaying info in a clear way that made it appear more credible and digestible.

Concept Selected:

A complete redesign with more division between the two sides of the website.

AskRose Landing Page

Context:

AskRose.com is a site devoted to the Rose mental health platform, which is still in trials at the time of this story. It is intended to be an AI-based program used between patients, with anxiety and mood disorders, and their providers to help make up for inefficiencies in current healthcare.

Problem at time of work:

No major problems, just requested an updated site.

Solution Found:

Decluttering of landing page with a colour scheme change as well as incorporating organic and anti-anxiety elements.
